"I am honored to be a Browne Fellow and am so eager to develop in civic leadership through experiential learning. Service is such a tangible way to impact our community, and I am looking forward to working with and learning from partnering community organizations. It is such a privilege to be trained up in this way; I’m excited for the conversations and dialogue I’ll get to have with other fellows in this cohort and folks in the Pittsburgh community. I'm interested in public health, social determinants of health, public policy, and education. I’m fascinated with how these different disciplines and fields can work together to create meaningful social and economic change. Throughout this fellowship, I hope to be a learner and listener—open to diverse thought and new experiences."

I am honored to be recognized as a Browne Leadership fellow! I am eager and passionate to be involved in this academic community and am looking forward to the new experiences it holds. The city has so much potential for creativity and learning, and I am eager to experience this first hand. The environment and resources that are available to us are important factors in unlocking this creativity. As a Browne fellow, I am excited to see how understanding, communicating, and learning make our community stronger."

"As a Browne Fellow, I am incredibly excited to learn and grow as an individual alongside such a wonderful cohort and serve local communities in a city that I am starting to see as my home. With the intention of pursuing a dual degree in Microbiology and Gender, Sexuality, and Women’s Studies, I hope to bring awareness toward healthcare disparities from an intersectional perspective in my future career. Beyond healthcare, my personal interests include mental health advocacy, public speaking, and the arts. I am so fortunate to have had a number of wonderful experiences and opportunities thus far at the University of Pittsburgh. My education has been such a privilege, and I have full intention of utilizing it to positively impact communities reminiscent of the ones my family came from."

“I am so honored and excited to be a Browne Leadership Fellow. Through both my personal and professional experiences, I have developed a passion for understanding others and creating meaningful relationships. I have also learned more about the power and strength in community organizing and advocacy. As a Pitt student, I am so grateful for the strong sense of community I have felt both inside and outside the classroom. I hope to provide others with the same sense of community and as a Browne Leadership Fellow, I am excited to work with others to advance economic, racial, and social justice.”

“Throughout my life, I have been privileged enough to be exposed to numerous unique educational opportunities, especially within STEM fields, which have sculpted my passion for medicine and technology. However, unfortunately, the accessibility of these STEM opportunities is severely hindered by financial barriers. I have previously volunteered with organizations to improve STEM educational outcomes, but never truly felt fulfilled because my efforts didn’t correlate with longlasting change within my community. As a Browne Leadership Fellow, I hope to translate my passion for STEM and helping others into a concrete, long-term initiative to improve educational outcomes within STEM amongst underrepresented populations in the Pittsburgh area.”

"I am a psychology major, a social work minor, and am pursuing my children's literature certificate.
I am so grateful for the opportunity to serve as a Browne fellow and work alongside my peers and community members! I am looking forward to the valuable and hands-on experiences which this opportunity has to offer, and excited to work within the community I love in pursuit of positive growth and development. I hope to make stronger relationships to the members of my community, as well as expand my own knowledge and abilities as an advocate, student, friend and community member."
