Cancellation Policy
The University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work reserves the right to cancel or reschedule a continuing education workshop if there is an inadequate number of registrants, (i.e. less than 10), or if unexpected circumstances occur with the presenter. In an event of a cancellation or re-scheduling of a continuing education workshop, all registrants will either receive a full refund or credit towards another workshop. The Office of Continuing Education reserves the right to cancel a program and will make every effort to notify registrants as quickly as possible. To request a refund for all courses, participants must contact sswce@pitt.edu. We must receive a written statement via email in order to confirm all cancellations. You will then receive an email confirming your cancellation. Retain your cancellation confirmation to allow for a refund to be processed. A 100% refund will be issued for cancellations received at least 5 business days prior to the start of a program. No refund will be issued for cancellations received less than 2 business days prior to the start of a program. No refunds will be issued for self-paced courses if a participant has already accessed the course. Please note: If a participant pays by check for a CE course, they will need to submit a W-9 in order to receive a refund as per The University of Pittsburgh policy.
Payment Policy
We prefer that all payments for all other programs must be made using our online registration system. Payment for all courses is due prior to the course start date unless otherwise specified.
Payments for some courses may be made online, by MasterCard, Visa, American Express, or Discover or via check. If paying by check, please make check payable to The University of Pittsburgh. Note: In order to receive a refund for a training paid for by check, participant must submit a W-9 to the CE department. If your fees were paid with a check and you are eligible to receive a refund, please allow up to 60 days from the date of cancellation for a refund to be issued via check. If your registration fees were paid online by credit card and you are eligible to receive a refund, your fees will be refunded to the same credit card used for payment. Allow 10 business days from the date of cancellation for the refund to post.
Attendance Policy
Participants must attend the entirety of the workshop or webinar in order to be eligible for CE hours. Partial credit will NOT be awarded to participants who arrive late, leave early, or otherwise miss portions of the program.
Pitt SSW Faculty/Staff Policy
All current Pitt SSW Faculty/Staff are eligible for a 50% discount on all CE workshop registrations (dependent upon classroom space and availability). The discount cannot be applied via online registration, only through phone. Please contact our Continuing Education Program Coordinator Shana Stein at 412-624-6902 in order to register and receive the discount on our CE workshops.
Grievance Policy
If you have a concern about a CE course, number of CE hours awarded, or an instance when an issue occurs during a workshop, please send an email with your concern to sswce@pitt.edu. In the email, please describe your concern in detail and include your phone number and other contact information so that we can contact you for further information. We will address the issue immediately and you will receive a response within 24 business hours. A follow up email will be sent as soon as the Director considers the issue to be resolved. If this resolution is not agreed to, the final step is to present your concerns to the Dean of the School of Social Work who oversees the program. The decision of the Dean is final, and no additional action will be taken.

If you need an accommodation for a disability or for any other reason, please contact sswce@pitt.edu at your earliest convenience. It is very likely that aspects of the course may be modified to facilitate your participation. Please give us as much advanced notice as possible so that we can work to accommodate your needs.
