Alumni Council

Alumni Council

The Alumni Council, formerly known as the Alumni Advisory Board, serves as a bridge between Pitt Social Work and the Social Work community. The council is actively committed to:

  • Connecting current students with experienced social work alumni.
  • Promoting career advancement and strategic networking across the Pitt Social Work community.
  • Recognizing alumni excellence through the Distinguished Alumni Awards program.
  • Advancing the impact of the social work profession in the community.

So why become a member?

Alumni join the Alumni Council for many reasons, including the opportunity to:

  • Reconnect with former classmates and meet fellow alumni
  • Share experiences and expertise with current students
  • Give back as an ambassador for Pitt Social Work
  • Take on a leadership roles as Chair, Vice Chair or one of the subcommittee chairs
  • And more!

You do not have to live in Pittsburgh to be a member! A quarter of our current members live outside of the area. The council meets every other month and gladly welcomes all Pitt Social Work alumni who are interested in participating.

If you are interested in joining the Alumni Council or learning more about upcoming alumni activities, please fill out this short form or contact our Alumni Relations team at sswalums@pitt.edu
