Description: Qualitative investigation of the experiences, barriers and disparities faced by API service users and family members in the context of psychosis. 

 Investigating Engagement and Recovery Experiences among South Koreans compared to Korean Americans Diagnosed with Schizophrenia: A Two Country Study.

Funding: Pitt CRSP-RISE Racial Equity Pilot Grant.  

Description: Cross cultural, mixed methods study of the engagement and recovery experiences of individuals diagnosed with schizophrenia in South Korea versus Korean Americans in the United States.

Psychosis Outside the Box 

Student PI: Shannon Pagdon 

Description: Psychosis Outside the Box focuses on soliciting, compiling and disseminating unedited first-person accounts of and perspectives on areas of psychosis that have been neglected in mainstream clinical literature.  Active focal projects span the phenomenology of psychosis (beyond DSM categories), experiences and perceptions of ‘negative symptoms,’ and cognitive disability/health.   

Peer Support in Early Psychosis Services 

Student PI: Shannon Pagdon 

Description: Participatory, qualitative investigation of the experiences of peer specialists working in early psychosis settings across the US. 

Experiences and Perceived Impact of Mental Health Coursework among Students with Psychiatric Disabilities 

Student PI: Callie Bennet MSW 

Description: National survey focused on the experiences of students with personal experience of psychiatric disabilities/diagnoses in mental health courses in social work, psychology, counseling and allied disciplines as they pertain to course curriculum and content.
