Two Social Work alumni make Pittsburgh Magazine’s 40 under 40 list

The University of Pittsburgh School of Social Work is well-represented on Pittsburgh Magazine’s 40 under 40 list for 2024.

Each year, the magazine receives hundreds of nominations for the awards honoring young leaders in the Greater Pittsburgh region. A panel of judges selects the winners based on professional accomplishments, demonstrated leadership and community contributions. The two social work graduates are:

  • Ashley Pesi (SOC WK ’18G), adjunct professor in Pitt’s School of Social Work and assistant director of Upward Bound at Penn State University.
  • Jeremy Carter (SOC WK ’19), manager of Housing Strategy at UPMC Health Plan.
