In 2019, funded by a Year of Community Engagement Award from the University, Dr. John Wallace brought together Pitt scholars-including School of Social Work faculty members Drs. Aliya Durham, Toya Jones, and Deborah Moon-and local ministers to address mental health in Homewood, a primarily Black neighborhood. The project is called CHURCH or Congregations as Healers Uniting to Restore Community Health. Read about this innovative project in Pittwire.
