Child Welfare Education and Research Programs

The Child Welfare Education and Research Programs provide a continuum of professional development programs designed to prepare, strengthen and enhance the child welfare workforce.

These programs are a cooperative effort among the federal Administration for Children and Families, the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, the Pennsylvania Children and Youth Administrators, and 21 schools of social work.

We acknowledge and celebrate the accomplishments of our CWEB/CWEL students and graduates on our social media pages throughout the year and in special anniversary publications. These profiles highlight just a small portion of the great work our students and graduates do to serve the children and families of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and contribute to our child welfare system.

Child Welfare Education for Baccalaureates (CWEB)

The Child Welfare Education for Baccalaureates (CWEB) program is a cooperative effort among the United States Administration for Children and Families, the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, and nineteen undergraduate social work degree programs in Pennsylvania accredited by the Council on Social Work Education.

The CWEL program is a cooperative effort among the United States Administration for Children and Families, the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services, the Pennsylvania Child and Youth Administrators and thirteen accredited schools of social work in Pennsylvania.
