As an OSCAR Scholar, Pitt Social Work Assistant Professor Quinton Cotton was selected to represent the Pitt Alzheimer's Disease Research Center (ADRC) at the National Alzheimer's Coordinating Center (NACC) Fall ADRC Meeting in Boston, MA. As part of the ADRC's Research Education Component poster session for early career investigators (invite-only), Dr. Cotton's poster titled "Qualitative Analysis of Dementia Caregivers’ Experiences with Lucidity" was reviewed resulting in him receiving the Rising Star Award on October 17, 2024.
"I want to extend my deep thanks to dementia caregivers who shared their stories and to my amazing colleagues at the Mayo Clinic-Rochester (PI Joan Griffin and Jodie Cogswell) and the University of Minnesota Twin Cities (Robyn Birkeland, Dionne Bailey, Joseph E. Gaugler)," said Dr. Cotton. "I was thrilled that the Pitt ADRC selected me to share my research on dementia family caregivers' experiences and potential modifiable factors surrounding lucid episodes among persons living with dementia. So many scholars across the country are doing amazing work and it was an honor to represent the Pitt ADRC and the School of Social Work."
