Alumnus named Trailblazer

PhD alumnus Michael Lindsey, dean of the New York University Silver School of Social Work, has been named by City & State New York as a Trailblazer in Health Care. A nationally leading scholar in the fields of child and adolescent mental health, Michael Lindsey has served as dean of the Silver School of Social Work at New York University since 2022. Last year, he also became the president of the American Academy of Social Work and Social Welfare, and in 2023 he was appointed to the New York City Board of Health, giving him a say in the development and enforcement of city public health policy. Lindsey has incorporated artificial intelligence into the Silver School’s curriculum, including a pilot program with virtual reality simulation for students
