The Asian American Pacific Islander Mental Health Symposium serves as an open platform to foster interdisciplinary dialogues and promote the mental health and well-being of AAPI communities. The symposium aims to build alliances, partnerships, synergy, and actionable strategies among DEI advocates and community members.
The inaugural symposium, held in March 2024, covered a variety of topics critical to the AAPI community, including:
- Racialized trauma and its impact on mental health
- Local advocacy initiatives and community resources for AAPI populations
- Navigating cross-cultural identities and addressing mental health stigma
- Integrating DEI leadership into community practice
