MSW alumna Stephanie Samolovitch, of Mars, was planning a career as a pharmacist when, two weeks before her 20th birthday, she was diagnosed with leukemia, joining a growing number of young adults who face cancer. Wanting to help other survivors, Samolovitch, 38, changed her career path and earned a master’s degree in social work from the University of Pittsburgh. After graduating, she facilitated a support group before launching Young Adult Survivors United in March 2020. Read more.
